Meet MarieAnn Mc Loughlin Dwyer

MarieAnn Dwyer was born in Dublin, Ireland in June 1966. Her love for music & writing began at a young age.She grew up influenced by a a musical tapestry, literally within earshot of O 'Donoghue's pub, in the heart of a diversifying Dublin in the late 60's and 70's. She is greatly influenced by the evolved combination of traditional Irish music, song and literature, but particularily by the continuing vibrant and emerging Irish rock & liberal artistic expression of the 1980's,to the present day.

She attended convent school in the city of Dublin from the age of four to fourteen years, and was taught by the sisters of the Holy Faith order. She was then enrolled for a further year at a highschool in Dublin's Sandymount before a further year's training at a typist's college. She later returned to formal education as a young mother to take nursing, anatomy & physiology, and community care practice studies and completed a diploma.

MarieAnn also completed one's years study in english literature at The American College Dublin, which is located on Merrion square. The college is housed within several buildings, one of which was the childhood home of Oscar Wilde. The middle child of seven children, she has embraced writing both in song and verse. She completed her first poem over 20 years ago, and most recently a music and poetry compilation, accompanied by Uilleann pipes, an instrument used frequently for "Lament" within the Irish culture.

She released her first album "Stolen Hearts" in 2016 for which HOT PRESS, Irelands premier and most distinctive music magazine noted MarieAnn's ability to deliver "A highly engaging debut album". Her album was also discribed as "often compelling..."

MarieAnn's compositions in both song and verse primarily deal with love, and memories of love, loss and all matter's of the heart.

MarieAnn is a mother, step-mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.
Her professions have included phlebotomy, nursing, flight attending, running her own small gift store and volunteer work. 

My Invisible Rhymes is MarieAnn's first book of poetry and verse by the singer/songwriter published 2017

She won “Best original song for a film” at the American Tracks Music Awards in Los Angeles, in May 2018. Her original compositions have featured twice on the BBC Radio Introducing series, in East Midlands UK.

“How to Trap a Starfish” her debut novel will be released in conjunction with Choice Publishing Drogheda Ireland in November 2018.  MarieAnn now lives in Rossnowlagh, Co Donegal Ireland.



Her poetic hero's and greatest influences include Maya Angelou, Seamus Heaney, Micheal D Higgins, Dylan Thomas and Patrick Kavanagh.
